Privacy Policy
This policy describes the current Veystead service. Veystead is operated by Benjamin George Churchill trading as Veystead. It is a business-management service for trade businesses and is not an advertising or data-broker service.
Who is responsible for your information
Benjamin George Churchill trading as Veystead is responsible for personal information processed to operate the service. Contact details are provided below.
Information we process
Depending on how Veystead is used, we process information needed to provide the service, including:
- account information such as email address, authentication identifiers and company membership;
- business profile, team and scheduling information;
- customer and job information, addresses, notes and files or images deliberately added by users;
- quotes, invoices, timesheets, labour records, materials, expenses and other job-management records;
- subscription status and billing references needed to administer a business subscription; and
- limited technical, security and support information needed to operate, protect and troubleshoot the service.
The current app does not use personal information for third-party advertising and does not request precise device location. Payment-card details entered during web checkout are processed by Stripe; Veystead does not store full card numbers.
How we use information
We use personal information to authenticate users, provide and synchronise Veystead features, keep business workspaces separated, generate business records requested by users, provide support, prevent misuse, maintain security and administer subscriptions.
Business customer data
A trade business may enter information about its customers, staff and contacts. In those workflows the trade business will often decide why that information is used, while Veystead provides the software service. Businesses should only enter information they are authorised to use.
Service providers
Veystead currently uses Supabase for authentication, database and backend services, GitHub Pages for web hosting and delivery, Stripe for web billing, GitHub for software delivery workflows, and Apple for TestFlight/App Store distribution. These providers process information for their respective service functions under their own contractual and security arrangements.
Sharing and advertising
We do not sell personal information and we do not use customer or job data for third-party advertising. Information may be shared with service providers where necessary to run Veystead, when a user deliberately shares a customer-facing quote or invoice, or where disclosure is required by law.
International processing
Some service providers may process information outside the United Kingdom. Where restricted international transfers apply, we rely on appropriate safeguards provided by those services and applicable data-protection law.
On-device information
Veystead stores authentication-session information on the device so a signed-in user can remain signed in. The iOS build also uses native app features such as haptic feedback and the system share sheet. Veystead does not use those native features for advertising tracking.
Retention and deletion
Business records are retained while needed to provide the service and while the relevant business workspace remains in use, subject to legal, security and backup requirements. Security and support records may be retained for a more limited period.
Signed-in app users can initiate deletion from Account & privacy → Delete account. A deletion request is scheduled for completion within seven days. The account and associated personal data are then removed except where specific records must lawfully be retained or business-workspace ownership must first be resolved. A confirmation is provided when deletion is completed.
Your choices and rights
Depending on the circumstances, UK data-protection law may give you rights to access, correct, erase or restrict personal information, object to certain processing and receive certain information in a portable format. For privacy questions or rights requests, use the in-app support/feedback route or email veystead@proton.me.
Security
Veystead uses authenticated access, company-scoped database controls, server-side permission checks and automated release/security testing intended to keep one business's records separate from another's. No online service can guarantee absolute security, and these controls are reviewed as the product develops.
Children
Veystead is designed for businesses and their authorised workers. It is not directed at children.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy as Veystead changes. The current version remains available from within the app and the web service. Privacy enquiries can be sent to veystead@proton.me.
